On June 3, as part of OVIA’s mission to Hong Kong, Macau, and Hengqin, a follow-up meeting was held with the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Forum Macao).
The meeting followed the official visit in March 2024, which was part of the business mission to China organized by OVIA. That mission included the participation of the Deputy Mayor of Oeiras City Council, Francisco Rocha Gonçalves, as well as several member companies of the Investment Agency.
During the meeting, new opportunities for institutional cooperation were discussed, with a focus on promoting internationalization projects between Oeiras, Macau, and Portuguese-speaking countries. OVIA reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening multilateral relations between Portugal and China, and to recognizing Macau as a strategic platform linking the Lusophone world to the Asian market.
This meeting is part of an ongoing cycle of collaboration between OVIA and Forum Macao, which includes memoranda of understanding signed with local entities and joint participation in business events and exchange initiatives since 2024.
In this context, OVIA continues to strengthen its institutional presence in the Greater Bay Area, promoting Oeiras as a European hub of excellence for investment, innovation, and intercontinental dialogue.
