The China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE) met with OVIA and ASA Lawyers to strengthen economic cooperation

On December 5, a luncheon was held in Lisbon, organized by the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Li Yong. The event was attended by a delegation from the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE) and the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC). This meeting extended the participation of Portuguese representatives, including OVIA and its member ASA Lawyers, who took part in the Ministry of Commerce of China’s mission to Shanghai and Hangzhou in June of this year.

The Chinese delegation, led by Ms. Ai Yinfang, Deputy Director-General of CICETE, also included Mr. Zhao Hui, Head of the Exhibition and Training Division, and Ms. Luo Wenqing, Program Officer from the same Division. Discussions during the luncheon focused on exploring new models and possibilities for collaboration in areas such as technical exchange, innovation, and sustainable economic development between China and Portugal.

OVIA, one of Portugal’s leading hubs for investment and innovation, emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with Chinese institutions to foster synergies between Portuguese businesses and the Asian market. Meanwhile, ASA Lawyers, serving as a legal and institutional bridge between the two economies, contributed to discussions on facilitating the implementation of bilateral projects.

This meeting marked another significant step toward building a strong relationship between Portugal and China, aligned to advance innovative and sustainable business initiatives.
