On April 24, OVIA welcomed an official delegation from the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, led by Director-General Wang Yueqin, accompanied by Vice Director-General Yang Huifang and representatives from the Guangdong Science and Technology Cooperation Center.
This visit to Portugal follows the institutional mission carried out by OVIA to China in October 2025, during which initial contacts were established with the scientific and technological authorities of Guangdong Province, one of China’s most dynamic and innovative regions.
The meeting allowed both parties to deepen institutional dialogue and identify opportunities for cooperation in the fields of science, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer, and technological investment attraction.
During the session, OVIA presented the innovation ecosystem of Oeiras Valley, highlighting the strong concentration of research centers, universities, technology companies, and scientific infrastructure in the region, as well as Oeiras Municipality’s strategy for internationalization and attraction of qualified investment.
The visit by the Guangdong delegation reinforces OVIA’s international positioning as a platform for economic, scientific, and technological diplomacy, building new bridges of cooperation between Portugal and China.
