Reception of the Saudi Portuguese Business Council Delegation in Oeiras

OVIA was present at the official reception of the Saudi Portuguese Business Council delegation, hosted by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Oeiras, Francisco Rocha Gonçalves, which took place on 20 January at the Oeiras City Hall, within the framework of the Saudi delegation’s institutional and business visit to Portugal, held between 19 and 25 January.

The delegation, led by the President of the Saudi Portuguese Business Council, Alwalid Albaltan, comprised representatives from Saudi institutional bodies and the private sector, drawn from a range of strategic sectors. The visit aimed to deepen bilateral economic cooperation and to identify concrete investment and partnership opportunities between Portugal and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Representing OVIA at the event was its Secretary-General, Tiago Sousa Dias, who took part in this institutional moment of welcome and engagement with the international delegation. OVIA’s participation in the reception aligned with the objective of building upon the work already undertaken by the Saudi Portuguese Business Council, further strengthening economic dialogue and the development of long-term strategic partnerships.

During the meeting, the importance of Oeiras as a territory of innovation, knowledge and investment was highlighted, as well as its role as a privileged platform for the development of international economic relations, particularly with strategic markets in the Middle East. The visit also provided an opportunity to explore areas of cooperation aligned with the municipality’s development vision, notably in the fields of innovation, industry, technology, investment, and business partnerships.
