On September 2, OVIA attended the preparatory meeting for the school exchange that will take place in the Dongcheng District of Beijing, China, from September 11 to 17, as part of the agreement signed between the Municipality of Oeiras and the Dongcheng District, which comprises strengthening exchanges in the fields of education, culture, and economy.
This exchange, organized by the City of Oeiras with the support of OVIA, and the Dongcheng District, will be attended by the Mayor of Oeiras, Isaltino Morais, the City Councillor for Education, Pedro Patacho, a Technician from the Education Department, Nuno Oliveira, the 12 best high school graduates in the municipality and 2 university students. All delegation members were present at this preparatory meeting.
The Municipality of Oeiras, acknowledging the decisive role of education in developing the potential of the individual and defending a culture of valuing excellence built on solidarity and civic participation, has decided to establish the City of Oeiras Prize – Best High School Graduates – Youth Exchange, in which the best students will travel to various destinations. The annual trips will be accompanied by a technician from the City of Oeiras Education Department and two teachers, selected in rotation, from two different schools.
