OVIA participated on 27 November in the Roundtable organised by the CCILC – Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which brought together in Lisbon a delegation from GATIS – Global Alliance for Trade in Services, an international non-profit organisation based in Beijing and dedicated to promoting global trade in services.
OVIA was represented at the highest level by its Chairman of the Board, Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, and its Secretary-General, Tiago Sousa Dias, who took part in the working sessions, institutional exchanges and strategic discussions on opportunities for cooperation in the services sector.
GATIS, which brings together chambers of commerce, business associations and international organisations dedicated to the development of trade in services, visited Portugal with the objective of deepening dialogue with national companies and institutions. The meeting, held at the InterContinental Lisbon, included an institutional presentation by GATIS and contributions from Portuguese representatives from sectors such as digital economy, consultancy, professional services, innovation and technology.
During the session, key areas for future collaboration between Portugal and China were analysed, namely: digital economy and technology services, sustainable services and business innovation, e-commerce and digital internationalisation, professional services and institutional resource-sharing.
OVIA’s participation in this meeting reinforces its role as a strategic platform of economic diplomacy, positioning itself as a bridge between the Portuguese and international business ecosystems. The presence of Ambassador António Martins da Cruz highlighted the vision of Oeiras Valley as a reference territory for high value-added activities, while the intervention of Secretary-General Tiago Sousa Dias underlined the municipality’s potential in the field of advanced services.
The Roundtable, which brought together representatives from companies, associations and Portuguese institutions, sought above all to create conditions for the development of joint projects, continuous exchange mechanisms and sustainable long-term cooperation between the two countries.
OVIA’s active participation reaffirms its commitment to promoting strategic opportunities for Oeiras Valley, strengthening its international positioning and its integration into leading global networks of innovation, services and economic cooperation.
