On October 16, OVIA’s Vice-President, Sílvia Almeida, Professor of Economics at the Catholic University, participated as a guest speaker at the Oeiras Blutech Ocean Forum. This Forum took place at the São Julião da Barra Fortress in Oeiras. Around 200 high-level business participants worldwide attended the Forum.
This initiative focused on “Investment in Artificial Intelligence, Clean Energy, and Bioactives of the Global Blue Economy for Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Asia.” It was organized by Fórum Oceano in partnership with the International Forum for Clean Energy – Macao (IFCE).
The event discussed the latest technological and business models in Artificial Intelligence and Clean Energy applied to the Blue Economy to promote their sustainable profitability and position this Forum as an international event of reference for business investment in this highly relevant sector.
This Forum aligns with current demands and corresponds to one of Oeiras’ strategic goals. Last March, the Municipality of Oeiras presented the 2030 Oeiras Ocean Program, which consists of a municipal strategy to accelerate dynamics and place the territory as a relevant hub of innovation in the Blue Economy, as well as to launch projects that will be developed in the municipality, with the sustainability and enhancement of the Sea Economy as the main premise.
