On 21 April, OVIA organized an institutional and business program in Oeiras for a delegation from IPIM – the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, as part of a business mission from Macau to Portugal and Spain.
The initiative brought together institutional representatives, business leaders and investors from Macau, Mainland China and the Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, including executives from major corporate groups, financial institutions, technology companies, pharmaceutical and industrial enterprises, as well as governmental entities.
The program began with technical visits to ISQ – Institute for Welding and Quality and iBET Biofarma, two leading institutions based in Oeiras and internationally recognised for their scientific, technological and innovation capabilities.
During the visit to ISQ, the delegation was introduced to advanced expertise in the fields of engineering, technology, energy, sustainability and industrial qualification, while at iBET Biofarma, projects and capabilities related to biotechnology, biomedical research and pharmaceutical development were presented, strategic sectors for Oeiras’ international positioning.
The program continued at Lagoas Park Hotel with institutional presentations by OVIA, Teixeira Duarte Group and CSCEC – China Construction Portugal, followed by a networking session and business meetings between Portuguese, Macanese and Chinese participants.
Among the participants were representatives from IPIM, the Macau Chamber of Commerce, Bank of China, Nam Kwong Group, Guangzhou Metro, Kingsoft, Didi Chuxing and UCloud, as well as officials from the Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and several Chinese industrial and technology groups.
