On June 19, the Deputy Mayor of Oeiras, Mr. Francisco Rocha Gonçalves, the Chairman of the Board of OVIA, Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, and the Secretary-General of OVIA, Mr. Tiago Sousa Dias, met with the Director of the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao Deepened Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Mr. António Lei, in Oeiras. This meeting followed the Business Mission to China organized by OVIA in March 2024.
During the meeting, the outlines of the partnership to be carried out by Oeiras and Hengqin within the scope of economic cooperation, attracting and settling investment, and the two-way internationalization of local companies were discussed, as well as the initiatives to be organized in Portugal and Hengqin to strengthen proximity and collaboration between Portugal, Hengqin, and China.
