OVIA meets with World Trade Center Macau to explore opportunities for international cooperation

On June 6, OVIA held a meeting with António Lei, Spokesperson and Legal Representative of the World Trade Center Macau (WTCM). The purpose of the meeting was to explore mechanisms for cooperation between Oeiras and Macau in the areas of international investment and trade promotion, leveraging the global platform provided by the World Trade Center network.

The World Trade Center Macau is part of the World Trade Centers Association, which operates in over 90 countries and actively promotes economic connections between regions and strategic markets.

During the meeting, participants discussed synergies in the internationalization of Portuguese and Macanese companies, the joint organization of economic and business events, and the identification of commercial opportunities in Portuguese-speaking countries. A particular focus was placed on the Greater Bay Area and the Eurasian relationship.

OVIA emphasized the importance of establishing Macau as a key hub between China and the Portuguese-speaking world, reinforcing Oeiras’ role as a gateway for Chinese investment in Europe and as a platform for global innovation.

This meeting represents a significant step in OVIA’s effort to expand its institutional network with strategic economic partners in Asia, aiming to promote sustainable and innovative business projects with a global impact.
