OVIA meets with the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR and IPIM to deepen economic cooperation

On June 5, OVIA was received in Macao by Tai Kin Ip, the Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Special Administrative Region, along with representatives from the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

This meeting was part of OVIA’s mission to enhance economic and institutional relations between Oeiras and Macao, focusing on promoting bilateral investment and creating new synergies in sectors such as economic development, innovation, and business internationalization.

During the discussion, specific collaboration opportunities between Portuguese companies and Macanese entities were explored, as well as the continuation of cooperation between OVIA and IPIM, which has previously signed instruments of understanding. The parties also considered the possibility of jointly organizing events in both Portugal and Macao, particularly targeting the Greater Bay Area markets and Portuguese-speaking countries.

This engagement reinforces Oeiras’ position as a European gateway for qualified Asian investment and highlights OVIA’s strategic role as a bridge between China, Macao, and the Portuguese-speaking world.
