As part of OVIA’s institutional and business mission to China, the Agency’s President, Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, and the OVIA delegation attended a working lunch with Portugal’s Consul-General in Guangzhou, Dr Tomás Azevedo, on 19 October.
The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen dialogue with Portugal’s diplomatic representation in Guangdong, one of China’s most dynamic economic and industrial regions, and to discuss the role of economic diplomacy in bringing Portuguese and Chinese businesses, institutions and investors closer together.
OVIA aims to position Oeiras as a leading destination for science, technology, innovation and investment, fostering connections between companies, research centres, investors and international partners. Engagement with the Chinese market offers opportunities both to support Portuguese companies in exploring international markets and to identify potential cooperation projects with Chinese organizations.
