OVIA explores the internationalization of companies in meeting with representatives of the Canton Fair

OVIA participated in a strategic meeting with the China Foreign Trade Centre (CFTC), the organizer of the Canton Fair, which is China’s largest and most prestigious multi-sector fair. The meeting took place on March 13 at the headquarters of Abreu Advogados in Lisbon. Organized by the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC), a partner of OVIA, the meeting brought together 15 Portuguese companies interested in expanding into the Asian market.

OVIA’s Secretary-General, Tiago Sousa Dias, took part in the event, reinforcing the Investment Agency’s commitment to supporting the internationalization of Oeiras companies and boosting new business opportunities.

The Canton Fair is a global reference event, attracting hundreds of thousands of buyers and offering companies direct access to the dynamic Chinese market.

OVIA’s participation in this meeting underlines the importance of portuguese-chinese cooperation and the ongoing effort to position Oeiras as a hub for innovation and business on a global scale. This event represents a significant step for local companies that aspire to grow across borders, strengthening the link between Portugal and China in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.
