On October 30, OVIA’s Secretary-General, Tiago Sousa Dias, attended the Conference on Cooperation in Trade, Economy, and Tourism between Portugal and China. The meeting was organized by the CCILC – Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry and promoted by Quinta da Marmeleira. It was part of the visit of an official delegation from Anhui province and took place at the premises of the Macau Economic and Commercial Delegation in Lisbon.

The meeting, in addition to the Investment Agency, was also attended by participants from the Chinese Embassy, AICEP, and Turismo de Portugal. A productive dialogue occurred between all the organizations present to gauge mutually beneficial cooperation paths for China and Portugal. In addition to the speakers, the event brought together several CCILC members and partners who had the opportunity to strengthen ties and discuss avenues for cooperation.

Anhui has a diversified economy and is an important agricultural producer. In recent years, the province has become increasingly industrialized, strengthening the electronics, automobile, and machinery sectors, investing in technology and innovation, and promoting the development of high-tech industries. In addition, Anhui has attracted foreign investment and infrastructure initiatives, such as the development of transportation, roads, railroads, and airports, facilitating logistics and connectivity. The combination of robust infrastructure and an expanding market has boosted the province’s competitiveness in the Chinese economic scene.
