On March 20, a meeting was held between the Bank of China, Macau Branch, the Municipality of Oeiras, and OVIA, together with a business delegation, to present the companies that integrated the business mission organized by the Investment Agency, as well as the Bank of China as a platform for promoting cooperation and exchanges between economic agents and financial institutions on the ground.
During the meeting, the prospects for Chinese cooperation and financial support for Portugal and its companies were presented as well as the mechanisms and procedures in place to leverage and implement Portuguese projects in Macau and China through the platform that constitutes this Special Administrative Region.
Among many other objectives, the Bank of China, Macau branch, intends to assist in the development of the maritime economy and blue economy, strengthen innovation and the exploration of models, take advantage of new opportunities and policies, establish a financial services platform to support Chinese companies in exploring new overseas markets, and to help Portuguese-speaking countries looking for investment opportunities in China, continuously invest in the development of technological financing, green financing, inclusive financing, pension finance, and digital financing. In short, the existing support mechanisms that will strengthen financial cooperation between China and Portugal were made available to OVIA Members and other companies participating in the Mission.
