OVIA and the Macau Foundation work together to promote cultural dialogue

On June 4, OVIA held a meeting with Wu Zhiliang, the President of the Macau Foundation, as part of its mission to foster connections in Hong Kong, Macau, and Hengqin. The primary focus of the meeting was to explore opportunities for collaboration and institutional partnerships in culture, education, research, and multilateral relations.

The Macau Foundation, one of the most influential institutions in the Special Administrative Region, has been instrumental in promoting initiatives that enhance local cultural identity, encourage cross-cultural dialogue, and support international cooperation. In turn, OVIA has been establishing itself as a key partner among Portugal, Macau, and the Lusophone community, positioning Oeiras as a hub for innovation, knowledge, and global exchange.

During the meeting, representatives discussed potential joint initiatives in academic mobility, cultural exchange, and the co-organization of international events. These efforts aim to strengthen the connections between Oeiras and Macau, two regions committed to internationalization and the development of shared knowledge networks.

OVIA expressed its commitment to collaborating with the Foundation on programs that link educational and research institutions, cultural diplomacy projects, and initiatives with social and educational impacts. This collaboration is intended to build solid and lasting bridges between Europe and Asia.

This meeting underscores OVIA’s role not only in attracting investment but also in fostering long-term, trustworthy institutional relationships. It reinforces the positioning of Oeiras as a global municipality deeply rooted in the values of multilateral cooperation.
