On June 24, a significant milestone for strengthening relations between Portugal and Brazil was achieved with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between OVIA and the Federation of Industries of Espírito Santo – FINDES. This agreement follows the Business Mission to Brazil organized by OVIA in March 2025.
The official ceremony featured the respective presidents: Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, Chairman of the Board of OVIA, and Paulo Baraona, President of FINDES. This event marks the beginning of a new phase of institutional and business cooperation between the municipality of Oeiras and the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Oeiras, Francisco Rocha Gonçalves, and representatives from OVIA’s member company, ASA Lawyers, including its founding partner, Teresa do Brito Apolónia. They were part of the official delegation during the Business Mission to Brazil and witnessed the signing of the agreement, highlighting its strategic importance in strengthening economic, scientific, and technological ties between the two regions.
This Memorandum of Understanding outlines the development of joint initiatives in innovation, sustainability, science, and investment, as well as the promotion of business, institutional, and academic exchange programs. It reinforces Oeiras’ position as a European hub of excellence connected to the Lusophone world and reflects OVIA’s ongoing efforts to showcase the Oeiras Valley ecosystem on the international stage.
The signing of this Memorandum is a significant step toward building lasting connections between Portugal and Brazil, creating new opportunities for mutual development based on shared values and the transformative potential of collaboration in knowledge, industry, and innovation.
