On May 2, OVIA welcomed the official representative of Beijing’s Dongcheng District, Ms. Chen Di, for a strategic meeting at its headquarters. The visit occurred as part of a cultural exchange program between students from Dongcheng and Oeiras, where Chinese students were hosted by Portuguese families.
The meeting brought together Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, Chairman of OVIA’s Board, and Ms. Chen Di to explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, namely on education, innovation, and investment.
A key outcome of the discussion was the proposal to jointly organize a seminar in Beijing, aimed at presenting the investment and technological development opportunities in Oeiras to Chinese companies and investors. This initiative aligns with Oeiras’ positioning as a European hub of excellence in innovation, science, and sustainability.
The dialogue with Ms. Chen Di reinforced OVIA’s mission to build bridges between the innovation ecosystems of Portugal and China particularly Dongcheng District as a strategic institutional partner in the development of long-term multilateral relations.
This meeting represents a significant step forward in building a shared agenda for economic and cultural cooperation between two dynamic territories mutually committed to future-focused development.
