OVIA, together with the Mayor of Oeiras, Isaltino Morais, and the Deputy Mayor, Francisco Rocha Gonçalves, met with the Mayor of Torres Vedras, Sérgio Galvão, and the Deputy Mayor, Diogo Guia, on March 16, with the aim of advancing a future strategic collaboration between the two territories.
At the heart of this initiative lies the strong potential of the municipality of Torres Vedras, a territory of approximately 407 km² that stands out for its scale, strategic location, capacity to accommodate growth, and quality of life. With a unique combination of available space, strong accessibility, proximity to the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, and a clear vocation for economic development, Torres Vedras positions itself as a highly competitive destination for the establishment of industry, logistics, and large-scale business projects.
The proposed collaboration seeks to leverage these distinctive characteristics, enabling the creation of a complementary model to the Oeiras Valley innovation ecosystem. In this context, Torres Vedras emerges as a natural solution to address the growing demand for space from technological, industrial, and innovative companies already established in Oeiras, including OVIA members, that are looking to expand their operations.
This partnership will not only strengthen the attractiveness of both territories but also foster a strategic axis of economic development, where Oeiras’ technological density is combined with the territorial and operational capacity of Torres Vedras.
By positioning itself as a territory ready to host qualified investment and future-oriented projects, Torres Vedras reinforces its role as a new strategic hub for industrial and business growth in Portugal, actively contributing to the competitiveness and sustainability of the national economy.
