On February 10, OVIA took part in the 2026 China (Futian, Shenzhen) – Portugal (Lisbon) Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Event, held at the Epic SANA Lisboa Hotel, further consolidating its position as a strategic territory for investment and international cooperation.
The Secretary-General of OVIA, Tiago Sousa Dias, participated as one of the keynote speakers, joining high-level institutional representatives. In his address, he highlighted the strategic role of the Oeiras Valley ecosystem, emphasizing the concentration of technology hubs, multinational companies, research centers, and highly qualified talent that position the municipality as one of Europe’s leading innovation hubs.
The event brought together government representatives from Futian District (Shenzhen), business leaders, investors, and institutional stakeholders from both countries, aiming to strengthen bilateral economic relations and foster new investment opportunities in technology, innovation, blue economy, and sustainable urban development.
Oeiras’ participation as a keynote speaker reinforces the municipality’s growing international recognition as a strategic partner in China–Portugal relations, paving the way for enhanced institutional and business cooperation.
