FINDES visits Lagoas Park and Teixeira Duarte

On June 24, the Federation of Industries of Espírito Santo – FINDES undertook its first round of institutional visits to OVIA member companies following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with OVIA. The purpose of these visits was to deepen mutual understanding, identify synergies, and promote concrete cooperation opportunities between Portugal and Brazil.

The afternoon itinerary included two key stops: Lagoas Park, one of the most prominent innovation business parks in the Lisbon region, and Teixeira Duarte, one of the largest and most internationalized Portuguese companies, with a strong presence in Brazil. Also attending was Teresa do Brito Apolónia, the founding partner of OVIA member firm ASA Lawyers, who actively promotes bilateral relations between Portugal and Brazil and participated in the Business Mission to Brazil in March 2025.

During the visit to Lagoas Park, the FINDES representatives had the chance to explore the urban and business development model of this technological excellence center, where numerous multinationals operate in fields such as engineering, information technology, consulting, and advanced services. The representatives were particularly intrigued by the innovation, sustainability, and quality of urban life found in Lagoas Park, viewing it as a potentially replicable model for the industrial context of Espírito Santo.

The visit to Teixeira Duarte was marked as a moment of significant strategic importance. The company showcased its portfolio of international projects, emphasizing its strong operations in Brazil, where it engages in large-scale projects within civil construction, infrastructure, concessions, and real estate sectors. Discussions also focused on expanding bilateral collaborations, not just in business, but also in the exchange of technical knowledge and specialized training.

These visits were organized by OVIA as part of the Investment Agency’s mission to strengthen ties between Oeiras and Brazil, fostering active connections between its members and international partners. For FINDES, representing one of Brazil’s most dynamic industrial states, the experience allowed for direct contact with best European business practices and sparked the planning of cooperation projects in industrial innovation, sustainable engineering, and cross-investment.

Overall, these visits reinforced the joint commitment to transform the signed Memorandum into tangible and sustainable actions, creating an active platform for collaboration among companies, institutions, and territories on both sides of the Atlantic.
