EABID’s strategic participation in Luxembourg at event with the Minister of the Economy

On March 25, in the city of Differdange, the Secretary-General of EABID and Secretary-General of OVIA, Tiago Sousa Dias, played a prominent role in the Mission City Business Lunch, an initiative integrated into the European mission for climate-neutral and smart cities.

The event brought together high-level institutional representatives, including Luxembourg’s Minister of the Economy, Lex Delles, as well as the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Differdange, alongside representatives from European institutions such as the European Commission and the European Investment Bank, and around one hundred local business leaders.

During the session, marked by strategic presentations on the European mission “Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities,” public-private partnerships, and instruments such as the Local Green Deals and the Climate City Contract, Tiago Sousa Dias stood out as one of the signatories of the Letter of Intent by the city of Differdange to join the Mission Cities consortium. This symbolic signing took place at a key moment in the program, reinforcing the collective commitment to sustainable urban transition.

In the panel dedicated to networks and innovation, he presented EABID, highlighting the organization’s role in supporting innovation, business capacity building, and the development of urban-focused solutions. His intervention generated strong interest among institutional and business participants.

This interest materialized at the end of the event through direct engagement from the Ministry of the Economy, a representative of the European Investment Bank, and a representative of the European Commission. These stakeholders expressed their willingness to further explore EABID’s work and consider potential areas of collaboration, particularly in urban management and circular economy training, in alignment with ongoing European programs.
