On September 30, the Portuguese Association of Friends of Chinese Culture, with the support of the Macao Economic and Trade Office in Lisbon, promoted the presentation of the work “Economia e Comércio – Conversação em Português” (Economics and Trade – Conversation in Portuguese), a Portuguese language teaching manual aimed at the Chinese market, coordinated by Prof. Wang Suoying and published by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press (SFLEP).
The event, held at the Macao Economic and Trade Office in Lisbon, showcased the book through a presentation by OVIA Chairman Ambassador António Martins da Cruz. He emphasized the significance of the Portuguese language as a bridge between cultures and the critical role of academic and cultural cooperation in deepening ties among Portugal, China, and the Macao Special Administrative Region.
Focusing on terminology and practical business communication, the book offers an innovative resource for Chinese professionals and students seeking to advance their Portuguese language skills, especially for international business.
The session brought together leaders from academia, diplomacy, and business, underscoring the value of initiatives that integrate culture, education, and investment. OVIA has actively driven such efforts to broaden its members’ international presence and reinforce strategic connections between Portugal and China.
The presentation of this book by Ambassador António Martins da Cruz underscored the importance of continuing to invest in bridges of dialogue that transcend borders, consolidating the Portuguese language as a true vector of global opportunities.
