On November 24, a meeting took place with a delegation from Liaoning province´s government in Lisbon. The event was organized by the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC), and OVIA was in attendance, represented by its Secretary-General, Tiago Sousa Dias.
After the official opening by the CCILC’s Secretary-General, Bernardo Mendia, speeches were given by the Vice-Governor of Liaoning Province, Zhang Lilin, and the CCILC’s Vice-President, Ilídio Serôdio. Presentations by participating companies and a discussion of bilateral cooperation in many sectors followed.
In 2020, Liaoning province accounted for 496% of the region’s total GDP, ranking third among China’s northeastern provinces. Furthermore, the region has a wealth of mineral resources and diamonds, as well as an important petrochemical, industrial, and equipment manufacturing industry.
