Oeiras welcomed an institutional and business delegation from Changsha, the capital of China’s Hunan Province, on October 26, as part of an initiative co-organized by the Oeiras Valley Investment Agency and the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC), an institutional partner of OVIA.
A visit to Taguspark was one of the highlights of the program, with a particular focus on exploring the park’s business and technology ecosystem and visiting its start-up incubator. The delegation had the opportunity to experience an environment focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological development, gaining first-hand insight into the facilities and support structures available to help new businesses launch and grow.
Led by Kang Zhenlin, Vice Mayor of the Changsha Municipal People’s Government, the delegation included institutional and business representatives from a range of sectors, including intelligent technologies, electronics, energy, new energy, medical technology, and services.
The initiative aimed to showcase Portugal’s innovation ecosystem, explore areas of mutual interest, and provide a deeper understanding of the country’s industrial development, while identifying potential investment and future cooperation opportunities.
The organization of this visit reflects OVIA’s role in connecting international organizations with Oeiras’ leading business, scientific, and technological assets. Working alongside CCILC and local partners, the Agency continues to facilitate direct engagement between decision-makers, companies, and institutions, creating the conditions for international interest to develop into lasting cooperation.
