On May 16, the OVIA´s Chairman of the Board, Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, took part as a guest speaker in a Seminar organized by the Embassy of China to Portugal on the subject “China-Portugal Relations in the New Context”.
The event commenced at 11 am, with a presentation of the Seminar by Ms. Chen Xiaoling, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of China, and a video display on the subject.
Afterward, the following guest speakers proceeded to presentations: the Member of the Central Committee of the PCP and Member of Parliament, Mr. António Filipe, the Deputy Director-General of Economic Activities of the Ministry of Economy, Ms. Marta Lima Basto, the Mayor of Seixal, Mr. Paulo Silva, the President of the Friends of the New Silk Road Association, Ms. Fernanda Ilhéu, the former President of the Portugal-China Parliamentary Friendship Group, Dr. Catarina Rocha Ferreira, the President of the Board of the Portugal-China Multisecular Friendship League, General Pinto Ramalho, the President of the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre, Dr. Carmen Mendes, the President of the Luso-Chinese Merchants and Industrialists Association, Dr. Choi Man Hin, the Vice-President of the Luso-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Ilídio Serôdio, and the President of the China Observatory, Dr. Rui Lourido.
The Seminar officially concluded at around 1 pm with a speech by His Excellency, Mr. Zhao Bentang, Ambassador of China to Portugal.
