The Oeiras Valley Investment Agency (OVIA), represented by its President, Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, and its Secretary-General, Tiago Sousa Dias, attended the 2026 Canton Fair, one of the world’s leading international trade and business platforms, held in Guangzhou, China, on 19 October.
The participation formed part of OVIA’s institutional and business mission to Macau, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, taking place from 17 to 25 October. The mission aims to strengthen institutional relations, identify investment opportunities and foster new avenues of cooperation between Portugal, China and the Agency’s international partners.
Officially known as the China Import and Export Fair, the Canton Fair provides a key platform for engagement between companies, buyers, suppliers and organisations from across the world. Its international reach and broad sectoral representation make it an important forum for identifying emerging trends, connecting with potential partners and exploring trade and internationalisation opportunities.
OVIA’s presence at the Canton Fair forms part of its internationalisation strategy and reflects its commitment to promoting Oeiras and Portugal in strategic markets, creating opportunities for new partnerships and strengthening the international presence of Portugal’s business ecosystem.
