On the morning of 12 November, the OVIL – Oeiras Valley Innovation Lab welcomed a technology-sector delegation from the Brazil–Portugal Business Mission 2025, in a visit organised by the Brazil–Portugal Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Santa Catarina and the CITeB Foundation. The visit formed part of Oeiras’ broader strategy to promote its innovation, technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem internationally.
The delegation was received at OVIL by Tiago Bastos, representative of the Oeiras Municipality and Coordinator of the project, who delivered an in-depth presentation on the role of OVIL as an experimental centre and true “living lab” within the municipality.
Throughout the visit, the group toured OVIL’s various spaces and ongoing projects, noting the innovative, collaborative and applied nature of this municipal laboratory, which operates as a bridge between businesses, academia and local government, accelerating the development of solutions for safer, more efficient, sustainable and connected cities.
Afterwards, the Coordinator presented the laboratory’s strategic vision, emphasising OVIL’s role as a driver of innovation in the municipality; its openness to national and international companies; the pilot projects currently underway; and its close alignment with the broader Oeiras Valley strategy and with European and international initiatives.
The program also included presentations from companies based at, or integrated in, the OVIL ecosystem. Gaming Visionary shared digital strategies for corporate environments, highlighting technological tools designed to accelerate marketing processes, corporate gamification and digital innovation. Beyond Vision, one of the most innovative companies operating in Oeiras, presented its advanced solutions in aerial robotics, drones and intelligent automation. Beyond Vision has been steadily consolidating its position as a European and global reference in drone technology, standing as a clear example of the calibre of companies that OVIL hosts and supports.
The session concluded with a Q&A moment, during which the delegation expressed strong interest in Oeiras’ municipal innovation policies and its collaborative governance model.
This initiative further strengthened Oeiras’ positioning as a leading territory in technological innovation, rich in opportunities and partnerships in R&D, as well as in the aerospace, space and defense sectors.
