On May 20, OVIA’s President, Ambassador António Martins da Cruz, was a guest speaker at the seminar integrated into the exhibition “Macau, Successes of ‘One Country, Two Systems’: Passing on the Legacy of Sino-Portuguese Friendship and Writing a New Chapter of the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ Principle”, organized by the Government of the Macau Special Administrative Region.
The seminar took place in Lisbon and featured the participation of Minister-Counselor Hu Bin from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Portugal, Ambassador Pedro Catarino, and Professor Vitalino Canas.
In his intervention, the President of OVIA addressed the evolution of relations between Portugal, Macau, and China over recent decades, highlighting Macau’s unique role as a bridge between China, Portuguese-speaking countries, and Europe.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the historical legacy of Sino-Portuguese cooperation and the prospects for economic, business, academic, and institutional collaboration between the different territories.
