OVIA deepens engagement with the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce to strengthen business ties with the Greater Bay Area

On October 23, OVIA met with representatives of the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce (SGCC), where OVIA Chairman Ambassador António Martins da Cruz also serves as President of the Lusophone Countries Branch. The meeting took place as part of OVIA’s institutional mission to Macao, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

The program included a visit to the Chamber and a working meeting, followed by a networking lunch. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss business cooperation, innovation, and the development of economic ties between Oeiras Valley and Shenzhen.

The Chinese delegation included Qing Shi, Executive Vice President of the Federation of Shenzhen Commerce; Chloe Kou, Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Enterprise Service Group and Secretary-General of the Shenzhen AI Glasses Industry Alliance; Zoie Gao, Director of Human Resources and Administration, with additional responsibility for International Cooperation at Shenzhen Enterprise Service Group; and Fay Luo and Wency Liao, International Affairs Liaison Officers at the same organization.

The meeting continued the institutional relationship between the two organizations, following an earlier engagement in 2026, when OVIA welcomed representatives of the Shenzhen General Chamber of Commerce to its headquarters in Oeiras.

Shenzhen, widely recognized for its dynamic business and technology environment, is an important partner for Oeiras Valley, particularly in terms of connecting businesses, business support organizations, and innovation stakeholders.

OVIA intends to continue strengthening this relationship by facilitating connections between organizations and identifying opportunities for cooperation, investment, and international expansion between Portugal and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
