OVIA attends the opening of the Chinese Film Week in Portugal 2026

On September 18, OVIA attended the opening ceremony of the Chinese Film Week in Portugal 2026, held at Cinema Ideal in Lisbon.

The session was attended by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Portugal, Yang Yirui, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Portugal, Li Yong, and representatives of institutions and organizations connected to Portugal-China relations.

The initiative, presented by the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) in partnership with Associação Il Sorpasso, brought to Portugal a selection of five recent Chinese films, offering the Portuguese public a closer look at different dimensions of Chinese society and culture.

During the ceremony, the film A Table for Two (À mesa a dois), directed by Wu Jing, was screened. The feature follows Zhang Jiayi, a young book editor, and Lu Shigu, a programmer who meet by chance when they share a table during lunch. From that encounter, the two develop a relationship of friendship and companionship while facing their own personal and professional uncertainties.

OVIA’s participation in this initiative is part of its work to bring the ecosystems of Oeiras, Portugal, and China closer together, while also contributing to mutual understanding through culture, entrepreneurship, and economic cooperation.
