On March 31, OVIA, represented by its Secretary-General Tiago Sousa Dias, met with Oscar Prat van Thiel, Director of Konkarta Limited, in a working session focused on strengthening economic ties between Europe and China.
The meeting followed a growing interest from Chinese companies in investing in Europe, particularly in the search for reliable industrial zones and well-structured business ecosystems. With nearly two decades of experience in China, Oscar Prat van Thiel highlighted the significant increase in requests from Chinese entrepreneurs seeking to expand their operations into the European market.
In turn, Tiago Sousa Dias presented OVIA’s strategy to address this demand, namely through the creation of a regional platform designed to channel investments into different territories across Portugal. This approach ensures tailored solutions for each type of project, from industrial facilities to energy ventures, while maintaining a strong connection to Oeiras Valley as a leading business hub.
This meeting represents an important step in strengthening international bridges and positioning Portugal as a strategic gateway for Asian investment into Europe.
