EABID meets with European Commission representative

On March 24, EABID continued its institutional agenda in Brussels with a strategic meeting at the European Commission, held at the Breydel building, under the framework of the “GROW I3” visit.

The meeting was attended by EABID’s Secretary-General, Tiago Sousa Dias, and the association’s CEO, Dr. Ger Corbett, who were received by Katharina Angerer, representative of the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW). The main purpose of the meeting was to present EABID at an institutional level to the European Commission services.

During the session, the EABID delegation introduced the association’s core objectives, highlighting its role as a platform for coordination among stakeholders and its potential contribution to European initiatives in the fields of innovation and industrial development. Opportunities for aligning the association with European programs and instruments were also discussed, particularly within the framework of the I3 (Interregional Innovation Investments) initiative.

The European Commission representative expressed interest in EABID’s activities, and possible synergies with EU policies and programs were explored, as well as pathways for closer future collaboration.

This meeting represents another significant step in EABID’s engagement with European institutions, reinforcing its strategy of building close relationships with key political and technical actors in Brussels.

EABID’s participation in this meeting highlights its commitment to actively integrating into the European ecosystem, contributing to initiatives aligned with European Union priorities and promoting coordinated action across different institutional levels.
