OVIA strengthens global innovation and investment alliances with the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding

OVIA reinforced its international presence by participating, on 11 December, in a high-level strategic meeting promoted by the CCILC – Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which brought together a select group of Portuguese entities with representatives from one of the world’s leading hubs for technology, innovation and industrial development. OVIA was represented by its Secretary-General, Tiago Sousa Dias, who presented the strategic vision of Oeiras Valley and the investment and collaboration opportunities offered by the municipality.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of the law firm PRA – Raposo, Sá Miranda & Associados, allowed for an in-depth dialogue with senior officials from organisations dedicated to economic promotion, internationalisation, industrial innovation and investment attraction, creating a privileged environment for identifying joint opportunities in areas such as advanced technology, R&D, Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, biotechnology and entrepreneurship.

During this session, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between OVIA and the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Nanshan District, Shenzhen, formalizing a partnership aimed at creating synergies in the fields of innovation, science, talent and investment.

OVIA’s participation in this meeting and the signing of this new MoU represent an important step in strengthening the Agency’s economic diplomacy strategy, further consolidating the position of Oeiras Valley as a prime destination for investment, innovation and international collaboration. Fully aligned with OVIA’s mission, this initiative opens new avenues for the development of Oeiras’ business and scientific ecosystem, reinforcing its role as a territory of excellence and global competitiveness.
