On November 3, OVIA welcomed a delegation from the Doctorate in Management (DoM) program of ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon, developed in partnership with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC).
The delegation, composed of around 30 participants, included entrepreneurs, business leaders, and senior officials from the Chinese public administration who are pursuing their doctoral studies in Portugal. The visit aimed to deepen their understanding of Oeiras Valley’s innovation and investment ecosystem, widely regarded as one of the most dynamic in Europe.
Also in attendance were representatives from REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais, China Construction, ISQ – Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade, and the Bank of China, contributing to a fruitful dialogue on infrastructure, energy, technological innovation, and international financing, further underlining the strategic relevance of this meeting.
The program included a visit to the Sharing Foundation (International Sharing School), followed by an institutional presentation by OVIA on the municipality’s integrated strategy for economic, scientific, and technological development.
Although unable to attend in person, the CEO of the CALB Group, responsible for the largest Chinese investment project in Portugal, is enrolled in this edition of the doctoral program, a fact that underscores the significance and prestige of this visit to Oeiras Valley.
This initiative further strengthens the academic and business ties between Portugal and China, fostering future opportunities for collaboration in innovation, science, and international investment, and consolidating Oeiras’ position as a territory of excellence and a strategic bridge between Europe and Asia.
