OVIA attends Sino-Portuguese diplomatic event at Casino Estoril

On August 27, OVIA participated in the screening of the documentary “The Sinking of the Lisbon Maru,” organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Portugal, as part of the celebrations of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Second World Anti-Fascist War.

The event, which took place at Casino Estoril, was attended by diplomats, local authorities, and institutional representatives, and included a photo exhibition and screening of the documentary depicting the sinking of the Japanese ship Lisbon Maru in 1942, while transporting 1,800 British prisoners of war from Hong Kong to Japan.

OVIA’s presence reinforces its commitment to strengthening relations between Portugal and China, especially in the areas of cultural, diplomatic, and economic cooperation. The Investment Agency valued the event as an opportunity to deepen institutional ties with international entities and promote the visibility of Oeiras’ innovation ecosystem among global strategic partners.
